I hope everyone had a sun-shining, fun-filled summer. Now that school is starting back up, it is time to start planning for our next trip to Honduras. We travel to Honduras each spring break to improve the health and overall well-being of families in Honduras. You can learn even more by visiting our home page! Be sure to check out our pictures from our past two brigades as well. If you have any questions or are wondering how to become involved, please contact me at [email protected]. I'm looking forward to another year of Honduran fun! Our next meeting will be held on September 7th at 8:30 p.m. in BH 146. Feel free to come talk with us as we begin this year on a good note. Health and happiness, Collin Abbott It is time to start another year of brigades! We hope this year goes great as last year was such a success. We are full of excitement and energy as our brigade dates have been set and we are focusing on getting the brigade numbers we need to have a hugely impactful brigade.
In other words -- help us by telling all your friends! Get out there and spread the word about Global Brigades! We believe in this cause, and want everyone to experience what we did last year, so we are trying to reach as many people as we can. To do this, we need your help. Spread our brigade's mission by telling as many people as you can about this great trip and the effects it has on the Honduran families, communities, and the students who go down to build, dig, and learn. We want to make an impact, and we need you to help us. School is out for the summer- well for most anyways. However, it doesn't mean Global Brigades is stopping! As you go home for the summer, pick up jobs and see old friends, don't forget about the upcoming year of trips we have coming! There are also many ways to get involved.
In the next year, we will be growing and expanding, lending ourselves to more leadership opportunities among the group. As you go along this summer, check out your schedule for next year to see how a leadership position would fit in and whether you would like to become more involved and help us out. Also, educate yourself about Global Brigades in general by visiting the websites both from IU and at www.globalbrigades.wikidot.com. Just a reminder that Global Brigades Day(s) is just around the corner. Here is the essential info: Why: To spread the word about Global Brigades and recruit new members. Maybe even start new division of Global Brigades at IU When: April 6th and 7th @ 8 pm Where: Ballantine Hall 347 Who: ALL Global Brigades Divisions will be represented, but you don't have to be in Global Brigades to come, of course! Everyone is welcome! Feel free to drop by for a couple minutes by yourself, but as always bring a friend along with you is strongly encouraged. You'll both be glad you did! For those of you currently involved with Global Brigades, your attendance would be fantastic. Not only will there be tons of people to talk to and to share your experiences with, but there will also be info about Global Brigades shared that will be news to you. So be sure to come!
